Are you familiar with Bangkok’s Green Mile? This pathway is an excellent shortcut between Benchakitti Park and Lumpini park, and it’s also a great cycling and e-scooter pathway.

There are no cars or motorcycles, the pathway is smooth and protected. If you’re looking for a temporary reprieve from the surface streets this area is worth checking out.

The pathway stretches about 1.2 kilometers from Sukhumvit Soi 10 to Wireless Road. Most of it is uncovered so be sure to bring some water or sunshade if it’s a hot day!

Enter the pathway at Sukhumvit Soi 10 where it connects to Benchakitti Park or at the corner of Wireless (Witthayu Rd) and Sarasin Road next to the Badminton Association of Thailand.

The “Green Mile” pathway between Lumpini and Benchakitti park is a safe e-scooter and e-bike (also traditional cycling) shortcut between two major sections of Bangkok.

There are stairways in some sections that include a ramp. Use your e-bike’s walk mode to effortlessly power your bike up the slope. On the Zendrian Cruiser Classic, “walk mode” is activated by pressing and holding the + button on the dashboard.

The exit at Wireless road takes you back to street level. From here you can enter Lumpini park or ride around the outer perimeter of the park to access the Si Lom area of Bangkok.

One of Bangkok’s pain points is long commute times for short distances. For example, taking the BTS Skytrain between Asok Intersection and Sala Daeng station is a 35 minute trip, according to Google Maps, yet the distance (as the crow flies) is only 3 kilometers! Worse yet, the taxi ride is between 20 minutes and 45 minutes depending on the time of day.

Smart E-Scooter and E-Bike riders around Bangkok know that there are plenty of shortcuts to be found that will dramatically reduce trip times – in fact, micro-mobility enables quite a few Bangkok speed-hacks that no other form of transportation (except perhaps your two feet) can utilize. The same trip above which takes more than half an hour by train is just 3.4km on pathways that gas-powered vehicles can’t use, and at just 20km/h on an e-bike, you’ll get there in about 10 minutes!
